Rebates are available to customers of Peoples Gas for the following high efficiency products:
North Shore Gas Customers:Please Note: A new Chicagoland Program offering will be available for North Shore customers on April 16, 2010, and will require a reservation in order to receive a rebate. This is in an attempt to ensure the ongoing availability of rebates. It is recommended that customers obtain a reservation prior to purchase to guarantee rebate availability. Please read below for more details. Rebates are available to customers of North Shore Gas for purchases/installations made between April 16, 2010 and May 31, 2011 of the following high efficiency products:
Reservations are required for North Shore customers. To obtain a reservation, please click here. If you do not have Internet access and would like to reserve a rebate, please call: 866-964-7345. Reservation Process - North Shore Customers 1. Reserve a rebate: a. Go here to obtain a reservation. b. If you don’t have Internet access, please call the call center for assistance with making your reservation: 866-964-7345. c. You will receive a reservation confirmation that specifies your reservation number, rebate funding reserved, product category for the rebate, and deadline to submit completed application. 2. Purchase and have a contractor install a qualifying product. 3. Submit your completed rebate application within 30 calendar days of the reservation date. Applications with missing or incorrect data will be subject to delays that could jeopardize confirmed reservation status. Please note that customers must mail in their applications - online applications are not available to North Shore customers. Program EligibilityThe Program is limited to current customers of Peoples Gas or North Shore Gas. Customers must be on Service Classification No. 1 (Residential). Commercial customers on Service Classification No. 2 are not eligible for the residential rebates but may be eligible for the non-residential rebates. Please see the Non-Residential webpage for more details. Please note that customers are limited to one rebate of each qualified product during the Program cycle of December 2008 - May 2011. Landlord EligibilityLandlords are eligible for Program rebates. If you are a landlord and the gas account(s) is in your name, please complete and submit the rebate application. You will be limited to one quantity per measure per gas account. If you are applying for a rebate for a residence you own, but the gas account number is in your tenant's name, you must supply the following information: You will be limited to one quantity per measure per gas account. Rebate applications are available on the Apply Now page. Installation RequirementsComprehensive information on installation requirements can be found on the rebate applications: Chicagoland Home Insulation Rebate Application - Peoples Gas Customers, Chicagoland Home Efficiency Rebate Application - Peoples Gas Customers, or Chicagoland Home Efficiency Rebate Application - North Shore Gas Customers. Attic insulation (Peoples Gas customers only) can either be installed by a professional contractor or self-installed. All other products, including water heaters, furnaces, and boilers must be installed by a professional contractor to manufacturer specifications and code and all products are limited to one unit per customer. Purchase and Application Submission InformationProducts need to be purchased and installed between July 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011 (for Peoples Gas customers) and between April 16, 2010 and May 31, 2011 (for North Shore Gas customers). The offer is valid from July 1, 2010 to May 31, 2011 (for Peoples Gas customers) and from April 16, 2010 to May 31, 2011 (for North Shore customers), or until funds are depleted, whichever comes first. All applications must be postmarked no later than 60 days after the purchase, or by June 30, 2011 (for both Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas customers), whichever comes first. Instant Discount OptionCustomers can receive their Chicagoland Natural Gas Program rebate immediately as an instant discount when they purchase any Program-qualifying product from a participating contractor.
Tax Credit InformationTax credits - at 30% of the cost, up to $1,500 - may currently available for products purchased and installed in existing homes in 2010. For more details, visit: www.energystar.gov/taxcredits.Illinois ENERGY STAR Appliance Rebate ProgramThe American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 provides state funding for energy efficient appliances and equipment rebates through the Illinois ENERGY STAR Appliance Rebate Program. Customers will be able to apply for both Chicagoland Natural Gas Savings Program rebates and Illinois ENERGY STAR Appliance Rebate Program rebates for qualified measures.
